As I completed my prerequisites for medical school, my life took an unexpected turn. A mentor entered my world and introduced me to entrepreneurship, specifically, sales. It was uncomfortable. Humbling. Transformative. Sales teaches you how to dare greatly, how to take risks, how to hear “no” again and again and still show up with courage. It strips you down to your core and forces you to find resilience you didn’t know you had.
When I stepped away from the certainty of medicine and into the unknown of entrepreneurship, I felt unanchored. I wondered if I had lost my purpose, or if I was being asked to redefine it.
That question followed me until I began working at a medical spa.
There, I witnessed something that changed me forever.
I watched women walk in carrying years of self-doubt, shame, insecurity, and quiet hopelessness. I saw how deeply they had learned to make themselves smaller.
And then I watched them transform.
Not just physically, but emotionally.
Their shoulders softened. Their posture shifted. They applied for jobs they once felt unqualified for. They went on dates again. They wore clothes they had been avoiding. They looked in the mirror and, for the first time in a long time, recognized themselves with kindness.
