Women’s Minoxidil Hair Capsules are a compounded oral formulation containing systemic minoxidil. Oral minoxidil is prescribed off-label for hair loss and has not been FDA-approved for this purpose. These capsules may include additional ingredients such as biotin, iron, or herbal extracts depending on the formulation.

Intended Use:
These capsules are used to promote hair regrowth, improve hair thickness, and reduce shedding in women with androgenetic alopecia or other non-scarring hair loss conditions. This treatment is generally reserved for patients who do not tolerate or respond to topical minoxidil.

Contraindications:
Do not use if you:

• Are allergic to minoxidil or any inactive ingredients
• Have a history of heart disease, low blood pressure, or fluid retention
• Are pregnant or planning pregnancy
• Are breastfeeding
• Have untreated kidney or liver conditions
  
  

Warnings & Serious Risks:

• Cardiovascular effects: Oral minoxidil can cause low blood pressure, chest pain, palpitations, or swelling of the hands and feet
• Hypertrichosis (excess hair growth): May result in facial or body hair growth in some women
• Fluid retention and rapid weight gain: Discontinue use and consult your provider immediately if symptoms occur
• Dizziness or fainting: Especially in those prone to hypotension
  
  

Common Side Effects:

• Lightheadedness
• Headache
• Increased hair shedding during initial weeks
• Mild swelling of ankles or hands
• Unintended hair growth on face or body

These symptoms often improve with dose adjustment and continued use.

Drug Interactions:

• Use caution with diuretics, blood pressure medications, or NSAIDs
• Avoid combining with topical minoxidil unless prescribed
• Inform your provider about all medications, including OTC supplements and herbal remedies
  
  

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:
Not recommended. Minoxidil is contraindicated during pregnancy due to potential fetal risk. It is unknown whether oral minoxidil passes into breast milk.

Administration:
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily. Take with food to minimize side effects and drink plenty of water.

Storage:
Store at room temperature in a dry location. Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children.

Emergency Situations:
Call 911 or visit the ER if you experience chest pain, shortness of breath, or sudden swelling.
