If you are not a fit at any point, the hold is released, the charge never completes, and the funds return to you on your bank’s timeline. Elara only receives payment if you are prescribed.

Do I need insurance to use Elara?
No. Elara does not use insurance. You see the full price of your treatment plan up front, and there are no membership fees, no visit fees, and no hidden costs.
When am I charged?
A temporary hold is placed on your payment method while you complete the medical questionnaire. Your payment is only processed if a licensed provider prescribes your treatment. If you are not a fit at any point, the hold is released and the funds return to you on your bank’s timeline.
Do I need a video visit?
In most states the whole process is asynchronous, meaning you complete it online with no live video visit. A few states require a live initial visit or live visits throughout; the availability section on this page lists them.
Who reviews my health information?
Licensed providers from our partner physician group, Wasef Health, review every intake. They look at your health history, your goals, and your medications, and they only prescribe when treatment is appropriate for you.
How does my medication arrive?
If you are prescribed, your medication ships from a licensed US partner pharmacy directly to your door in discreet packaging. Depending on the treatment, it may be an FDA-approved product or a pharmacist-compounded formulation prepared for you.
What happens after I start treatment?
Your care does not end at checkout. You can message your care team with questions, and your provider stays involved for follow-ups, dose adjustments, and refills as your plan progresses.
